Easy Run Friday

Went out for my Easy Run today.

DC Bike Path: 1/2 Marathon Training, Easy Run, (Walk/Jog). Dist: (6.32)mi. Pace-avg: (16:48). Speed-avg: (3.6)mph. Speed-max: (5.9)mph. Burned: (710) Calories.

Plan: Run (2) mi. @ (17:44) pace, for a total time of (35:29) min.
Actual: Jogged (2) mi. @ (13:24) pace, for a total time of (26:48.35) min. Bracketed by (1) mi. warm-up and cool-down, plus (2.32) mi. slow walk back to the house.
Fuel: PowerBar Strawberry-Banana gel. Always tasty.

Other News: I looked up Community Business College online after hearing about them at a job fair this past Tuesday. They have IT Certification Prep classes that appear to be nicely priced. Each class is only six (6) weeks long, and appears to be done online only. I will have to look into this further, but this may be a better option than Modesto Junior College's IT program; at least, it looks like it would be shorter overall.

Another Easy Run Tuesday

Today's Easy Run:

DC Bike Path: 1/2 Marathon Training, Easy Run. Dist. (5.60)mi. Pace-avg: (16:46)min./mi. Speed-avg: (3.6)mph. Speed-max: (6.0)mph. Burned: (640) Calories.

Plan: (3) mi. @ (17:44) for a total time of (53:14).
Actual: (3) mi. @ (16:12) for a total time of (48:37.28). Plus (1) mi. on either side to warm-up and cool-down.

My Garmin did not want to power up this morning when I was attempting to upload today's training "course." Fortunately, Google led me to the Garmin Forums and a quick fix: Hold down the "Mode" and "Lap/Reset" buttons for five (5) seconds, then release; then press the "Power" button. Bingo! It powered up and I was back in business.

Today's Weight: (203.0) lbs.

Other News: Attended a job fair today that reminded me my resume needs more polishing and tuning for the attention-span challenged. But on the up-side there are more companies hiring than I really expected, even if most of them are outside my skill and experience set.

Long Run Sunday No.5

Got out for my Long Run today.

DC Bike Path: 1/2 Marathon Training, Long Run [Walk/Jog]. Dist: (10.31) mi. Pace-avg: (16:39)min./mi. Speed-avg: (3.6)mph. Speed-max: (5.1)mph. Burned: (1142) Calories.

Oof! Tired and sore. Not to mention salt-crusted all over. *bleh*

Plan: (9) mi. at a (17:50) pace for a time of (2:40:32) hrs.
Actual: (9) mi. at an average (16:30) pace for a time of (2:28:34) hrs.
Fuel: (1x) PowerBar Strawberry-Banana gel; (1x) GU Chomps, Orange. Those really hit the spot when I needed them.

Mileage for Week (5): Plan: (18) mi. Actual: (23.38) mi. [Does this make me an over-achiever, now?]

Starting to develop hot-spots on the balls of both feet. I probably should have stopped and adjusted my socks, or adjusted my shoes at some point during today's "run," but I decided to just keep plugging away and stay in motion.

Today's Weight: (200.2) lbs. post run.
