Cycling Saturday

I missed out on my last two (2) Easy Run days because I was feeling ill. Nausea kept me from running. Even if I had dragged myself out the door, I may very well have vomited all over the place. Now, I only felt ill and queasy enough to barf, but I did not, and that makes me very happy. B-)

DC Bike Path: Cycling. Dist: (10.35)mi. Pace-avg: (5:18)min./mi. Speed-avg: (11.3)mph. Speed-max: (17.2)mph (coasting downhill). Burned: (604) Calories.

When I stepped out the door this evening for my ride, it almost felt like late October, like Halloween was just around the corner. that is one of my favorite times of year. Especially back during my junior high school years: Walking home through the Sherwood Forest neighborhood in mid- to late-afternoon during October always had a magical feeling to it.

I followed my ride with plenty of water, then a Banana-Chocolate-Honey smoothie. That hit the spot. Mmmm. B-)

Anyway, tomorrow I will make the effort to go for my final Easy Run of this training week.

Easy Run Tuesday

Got out and ran my first Easy Run of the week.

DC Bike Path: 1/2 Marathon Training, Easy Run. Dist: (6.35)mi. Pace-avg: (15:58)min./mi. Speed-avg: (3.8)mph. Speed-max: (5.5)mph. Burned: (726) Calories.

The goal for today was (4) miles at a (17:50) pace for a time of (1:11:22), or so. I did four (4) miles at an average pace of (14:46)min./mi. for an elapsed time of (59:03.66)min. Pretty good. I jogged twice during my Jog phase, one (1) mile the first time and (1.32) miles the second time, for a total of (2.32) miles jogged during this (4) mile easy run. That felt pretty good. And when I left the house today it was in the low 80's with a breeze. Nice and comfortable.

This was the first of four scheduled Easy Run's this week: Thursday and Friday will be (3) mi. each, and Sunday will be (4) mi.

Long Run Sunday

Or, better known as, "Oy! What a schlep!"

DC Bike Path: 1/2 Marathon Trng, Long Run. Dist: (8.95)mi. Pace-avg: (16:31)min./mi. Speed-avg: (3.6)mph. Speed-max: (5.2)mph. Burned: (978) Calories.

Today's goal: Long Run:
"Run 8 Mi at a pace of about 17:56 per mile -- for a total time of 2:23:29. The pace of 17:56 is just a good guideline. Anything close to it is fine, as long as the pace feels comfortable"

I achieved this. I should have taken another gel pack, and definitely should have checked the batteries in my flashlight before I left the house. D'oh! I'll be sure to check that next time. But the waxing moon definitely helped light the path, even if the city does not run the lights in the park anymore.
